Right to choose

Home/Right to choose

For anyone living in England and with a registered GP practice in England, you have a legal right to choose your mental healthcare provider, as long as they are registered with the NHS and offer services in England. This means you can ask your GP to refer you to a specific clinic that best suits your needs, including shorter waiting times.

Long wait times for local ADHD services can discourage people from seeking help. The Right to Choose allows patients to access care more quickly, including through video consultations with specialists across England.

ADHDNET has a commissioning contract with Norfolk and Waveney ICB to deliver an adult (18+) only ADHD assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and review service since 15th of November 2024. The service’s named consultant lead is Dr Turan Asan, Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist. ADHDNET therefore meets the requirements to offer an option for ADHD assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and review service for adults via my NHS Right to Choose.
